Cincinnati Enquirer Examines How Private Equity Plays Critical Role in the Economy
Last week, The Cincinnati Enquirer published an article that takes an in-depth look at how private equity impacts companies in Ohio and Kentucky. Titled “Under Scrutiny, Private Equity Plays Critical Role,” the article examines how private equity provides capital and managerial expertise to help companies thrive. You can read the full article here.
One of the private equity owned companies the article examines is AFC Industries Inc. The 25 year old manufacturing company recently received an investment that it hopes will allow the company to become more competitive by growing its product line and expanding its geographic footprint. And these types of investments add up. The article notes that private-equity firms have invested more than $54 billion in 650 companies employing nearly 500,000 workers in Ohio and Kentucky.
