PEGCC Holds First Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) Seminar
The Council held its first seminar in a new educational series on environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) programs on May 22nd at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York. The PEGCC ESG Seminar Series is a result of significant feedback from our members voicing a need for more concrete information on developing, implementing, and furthering ESG initiatives. Attendees from 19 PEGCC member firms actively discussed the initial phases of an ESG policy within their firm, how to integrate that approach into their firm’s larger investment strategy, and the tools and resources needed to manage the overall policy.
The Council’s seminar consisted of a panel discussion focused on effective messaging and reporting to LPs followed by two breakout sessions, “Determining Your Firm’s Approach to ESG” and “ESG Integration in Portfolio Management.” Sustainability experts included John Hodges and David Korngold of BSR, Andrew Malk of Malk Sustainability Partners, Laurie Medley of Apollo Management, and Greg Little of Pantheon. We would like to thank those expert panelists for driving the discussions as well as Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, a PEGCC Associate Member, for hosting the seminar.
The second PEGCC ESG Seminar will be held on October 23rd from Noon to 3:30 p.m. at KPMG in New York. If you have questions about the seminar or other PEGCC member events please contact the Council’s membership team at: 202-465-7700.
