New Videos Highlighting AIC’s Reception at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Leadership Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On September 11th, the American Investment Council (AIC) and the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC) hosted our third annual welcome reception at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) annual leadership conference. Today, we’re releasing four new videos to highlight the event, which featured:

Private Equity is Investing in Diverse Communities Across America

AIC President and CEO Drew Maloney and NAIC President Robert Greene kicked off the reception with remarks about the role of private equity investments in predominantly Black districts and districts led by Black representatives. “If you look at the last five years, $650 billion has been invested in CBC districts, supporting thousands of small businesses and more than two million jobs in CBC states and districts,” shared Drew.

Honoring Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA) for Empowering Entrepreneurs

At the reception, the AIC and NAIC presented Rep. Williams with the inaugural Sapphire Award for Economic Empowerment in her name. “I am always ready for partner to make sure I am uplifting the voices of our communities so that everybody has the opportunity to thrive,” said Rep. Williams.

Private Equity is Helping Diverse Entrepreneurs and Businesses Raise Capital

Speaking about how investment powers innovation, Troy Millings and Rashad Bilal, co-hosts of the Earn Your Leisure podcast, sat down with Xavier Williams, CEO of Network Wireless Solutions. Each member of the panel stressed the importance of how private equity is helping diverse entrepreneurs and businesses raise capital. “Capital is the key to any business, and that’s why private equity is so important for the economy and so important for businesses growing,” said Xavier. At the reception, the AIC and NAIC awarded Xavier the Emerald Award for Executive Excellence.
