Speakers include Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX), AIC President & CEO Drew Maloney, and NVCA President & CEO Bobby Franklin

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, April 9 at 8:30 a.m. ET, the American Investment Council (AIC) will host the latest installment of our “Investing in America” series with Punchbowl News. Representative August Pfluger (R-TX) will join Punchbowl News founder Jake Sherman to discuss the news of the day and how private capital is playing a critical role in partnering with and supporting small businesses across the country.

Afterward, Drew Maloney, President & CEO of AIC, and Bobby Franklin, President and CEO of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), will join Jake for a fireside conversation to discuss how Washington needs to support pro-growth tax reform that keeps America competitive, creates jobs and strengthens small businesses.

Across the country, private equity is supporting job growth, local economies, and small businesses. In 2024, the private equity industry employed 13.3 million workers, and 85% of private equity-backed businesses were small businesses with fewer than 500 employees.
