PEGCC Applauds Passage of H.R. 1105 by the House Financial Services Committee
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Steve Judge, President and CEO of the Private Equity Growth Capital Council made the following statement about the House Financial Services Committee’s passage of H.R. 1105, The Small Business Capital Access and Job Preservation Act:
“The Private Equity Growth Capital Council applauds the passage of the Small Business Capital Access and Job Preservation Act by the House Financial Services Committee. The PEGCC commends Chairman Jeb Hensarling, Congressmen Robert Hurt, Jim Himes, Scott Garrett, and Jim Cooper for their work to advance this essential legislation. The private equity and growth capital industry hopes H.R. 1105 will come up for a vote on the House Floor in the near future.
“This bi-partisan legislation reaffirms that private equity and growth capital funds pose no systemic risk to the U.S. economy nor do they raise investor protection issues that require additional regulation. The legislation looks to reduce new, complicated and unnecessary registration requirements that unfairly burden an industry responsible for investing hundreds of billions of dollars in U.S.-based businesses each year. The PEGCC will continue working with members of both parties to ensure the government has the information it needs while reducing costs and barriers to investing in the U.S. economy.”
