Portfolio Company Initiative
Camelot Education, a portfolio company of the PEGCC member firm The Riverside Company, has partnered with Chicago Public Schools and the City of Chicago for the past three years to identify and provide targeted and effective educational programs for Chicago’s most at risk students. To date, Camelot has provided accelerated and transitional education programs to nearly 600 students.

In mid-December, Congressman Mike Quigley (D-IL) visited Camelot Education’s Excel Academy of Englewood in Chicago, IL, to hear more about the role that Camelot is playing in educating Chicago’s most at risk students. He also heard how private equity is contributing to the success of Camelot and their ability to sustain and grow effective partnerships. While on campus, Congressman Quigley was given a tour of the school led by Englewood students. The Congressman spoke to several classes, and provided the positive message that the students should use their ability to overcome past challenges as motivation to achieve future success.
