Private Equity at Work Campaign Continues to Set the Record Straight
PEGCC’s “Private Equity at Work” campaign thrived during the second quarter, continuing to educate members of the media, policy makers and the public about the private equity industry and its positive contributions to the American economy. As November’s presidential election nears, private equity has come under attack, threatening to negatively impact the entire industry without the proper balance of information.
The Council continues to produce significant resources to defend the industry’s record and image. During the second quarter, the PE at Work campaign released the following
- Rockwood Holdings (KKR) video case study released April 25
- AxleTech (Carlyle) video case study released May 23
- Inmar (New Mountain Capital) video case study released June 12
In addition, we released an educational white board video entitled, “What is Private Equity?,” describing the process by which private equity firms partner with investors such as pension funds and charitable endowments to purchase companies that need capital and expertise to grow or retool. The video demonstrates how private equity drives economic growth, strengthens business and provides financial security to millions of Americans.
We have more video projects in the pipeline for the third quarter, including video case studies featuring Dollar General (KKR), ITC (KKR) and Hyland Software (Thoma Bravo).
We have received positive media response to our campaign thus far. This quarter’s videos have been featured in 35 print or news stories, and the Council has conducted 71 national reporter briefings on the PE at Work campaign this year.
As we inch closer to the November 6 election, we’re excited for what the next quarter will bring for our PE at Work campaign!
