WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Thursday, March 17 at 9:00 AM ET, the American Investment Council will host a conversation with Punchbowl News on the role private capital has played partnering with small businesses across the country as they navigated through the COVID-19 pandemic. Punchbowl News Founder Anna Palmer will interview Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) in a one-on-one conversation. Afterward, Drew Maloney, President & CEO of AIC, and Mark Blumling, Founder & CEO of Headlands Research, a private equity-backed clinical health research company, will join Anna for a fireside conversation.
During the tumultuous and uncertain economic period caused by COVID-19, private equity has continued to invest in small businesses. Notably, a recent report released by the AIC highlighted how private equity has invested over $1 trillion in communities across America in 2021 alone. 74% of total capital investments went to support 5,205 small businesses. These investments showcase private equity’s continued commitment to building better businesses that improve the lives of millions of Americans.
The event is the third in a series on “Investing in America” looking at how private capital is helping support the U.S. economy.
